Government Subsidy with National Livestock Mission (NLM) 2025 – A Game-Changer for Livestock Entrepreneurs!
The National Livestock Mission (NLM), launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, is a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs, farmers, SHGs, FPOs, and rural youth to step into the thriving livestock sector. With generous 50% capital subsidies and a well-structured implementation mechanism, NLM is designed to generate employment, boost rural incomes, and improve livestock productivity across India.
Key Objectives of NLM:

Improve per-animal productivity via scientific breeding and feed-fodder management.
Encourage self-sustained businesses in breeding, feed, fodder, and processing units.
Support genetic improvement and artificial insemination infrastructure.
Under NLM Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), eligible beneficiaries can get:
50% capital subsidy (up to ₹50 Lakhs) for projects like goat and sheep breeding farms, rural poultry hatcheries, piggery units, and equine breeding farms.
No subsidy for land, personal vehicles, or working capital.
